Premium Green Vintage Hand-scraped bamboo flooring.

Individual hand forming makes every authentic hand scraped plank unique. Using centuries-old techniques as a starting point, Artisans recreate the charm and ambience of hand-crafted, custom made flooring into the Premium Green Handscraped line. This authentic, physically handscraped flooring combines old-world beauty with today's advanced finishing processes for durable carefree performance.

Shouldn't all rooms be living?

Today a growing worldwide awareness toward conservation and the use of regenerative building products is underway. Bamboo has recently been named the green building material for the 21st century. It's easy to understand the responsibility of conservation as the hardwoods of Brazil and the Amazon forests deplete at an alarming pace. While the maturation time for the common oak species is 60 years, the large moso bamboo takes only 6 years to achieve full maturation. The original bamboo plant is left unharmed in the harvest process and quickly regrows for yet another harvest.

Featured: The Premium Green Vintage Hand-scraped bamboo was recently chosen and installed on TLC's tv series "Flip That House".

Why choose "Premium Green Bamboo" Floors?

  • Environmentally Conscious Construction
  • Our Bamboo Floors use only "A" grade "Moso" bamboo
  • Superior Construction
  • Consistent Dimensions and Precise Milling
  • Simple Floating Installation
  • Top Quality Finish
  • The factory is ISO 9000 certified

Premium Green Bamboo: there is a difference. Premium Green Bamboo is produced exclusively using European Dyno brand adhesives. The adhesives are free of components classified as hazardous to the environment. No solvents, heavy metals, or bactericides were used in the making of this floor. This Premium Bamboo floor meets or exceeds European Union (more strict than U.S. regulations) Formaldehyde requirements.

Our products are environmentally friendly. From the bamboo itself, to the low-emission glues utilized, our bamboo floors are created with minimal environmental impact. There isn't a flooring available with lower environmental impact.

Premium Green Bamboo uses only "A" grade "Moso" bamboo. Only the lower 2/3rds of the harvested bamboo cane, measuring approx 40' in height, is utilized. This is the hardest part of bamboo and thus best used for flooring. Managed forests of individually time dated and tagged canes that are at the peak of their density, approximately 6 years old, are harvested for Premium Green Bamboo. If harvested any earlier, the bamboo is not as dense; any later and it's in decline.

Construction is superior. The edges of our planks are clean and sharp, the surfaces smooth and clear. The layers of our flooring are dense and tightly packed.

Dimensions and milling are consistent. Our flooring dimensions are consistent across planks and across lots. This ensures that our 5/8" plank will align correctly with any of our other 5/8" products. Tongues and grooves are tight and gap-free.

Simple Floating installation. Introducing the longstrip handscraped bamboo floor from Premium Green. The moisture stability of the product allows for flexible installation methods such as direct glue down over concrete or traditional nail down on a wooden subfloor. Glue, nail, staple, or float, install bamboo in virtually any room in your house.

The finish is the finest available. The level of sheen is satin glow. Every Premium Green Bamboo product features the certified 11 step finishing process, in which 6 coats of German manufactured Treffic Aluminum Oxide Finish are applied. Each layer is individually cured with Ultra Violet light. Beautiful finish depth combined with abrasion- and scratch-resistance and no-wax easy daily maintenance results. Top-quality materials and exacting construction standards ensure the lasting performance of Premium Green Bamboo floors.

The factory is ISO 9000 certified. Not only does this mean we produce a quality product but we produce a quality product consistently, time after time.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Vintage Hand-scraped Bamboo Collection.

Q. My interior is more of a minimalist/modern theme. I have seen handscraped floors installed in these types of settings. Is it something that is typically done?

A. Handscraped floors are not simply designed for rustic themes. Handscraped floors really do span all design themes, which is why you have seen them in modern contemporary settings as well. Handscraping warms up a hardwood floor and creates texture, depth and interest to all rooms. It is not something that locks you into a particular design theme.

Q. I have installed an under floor heating system in my home. Can I install the Vintage Hand-scraped Bamboo Collection in my home?

A. Yes, this floor can be installed over radiant heat systems using the floating installation method.

Q. Would you suggest using this floor in a commercial setting?

A. The Vintage Collection can be used in commercial settings as well as residential settings.

Q. I received a sample of this floor last week. The finish seems to be a lower matte type look. Is this intentional?

A. Handscraped hardwood floors are given a lower luster finish intentionally. Lower luster finishes pair better with the handscraping technique and are still no wax and easy to maintain.

A. Does the term handscraped really mean the process is done by hand?

B. This collection is actually done by hand. On average, one person can hand-scrape 75 square feet per day of this floor. It takes quite a while to complete a full truckload of this collection.

A. What species of bamboo is used in creating this floor?

B. The species is the same species used in the other Premium Green Collections. It's called the Moso species, one of the hardest species available for flooring or other building material.

A. Can this floor be glued directly down to a concrete subfloor?

Q. Yes, this floor can be glued directly down as well as floated over a concrete floor. The glue that is used is a urethane based wood flooring adhesive. It is troweled onto the concrete flooring using a notched trowel. Another method for installing this flooring over a concrete subfloor is to float it over a underlayment.

The Premium Green Vintage Handscraped Solid Bamboo Collection can be installed using a traditional nail down method, the direct full spread glue down method, or the floating installation method. The Premium Green Vintage Handscraped Solid Bamboo Collection can be used over both wooden or concrete subfloors. Radiant heat is not a problem for the Vintage Collection.

The Premium Green Vintage Handscraped Solid Bamboo Collection can be installed in Basements, First Floors and any Floor above the first and can be installed on staircases as well.

The Premium Green Vintage Handscraped Solid Bamboo Collection can be installed by both Professional Flooring Installers and Do It Yourself homeowners.
